Fleur de Sel Restaurant was opened by the husband and wife team of Martin and Sylvie Ruiz Salvador in 2004. That year, the restaurant gained a spot on En Route’s Top Ten New Restaurants in Canada in its first year of operation and continued to achieve national attention until its final season in 2018.  Martin & Sylvie enjoyed every moment at 53 Montague Street but felt it was time to make a change and switch focus.  Since the opening of Fleur de Sel, the couple have opened four other establishments in Lunenburg the Salt Shaker Deli the South Shore Fish Shack, the Half Shell Oysters & Seafood and, most recently, the Beach Pea Kitchen & Bar.
